Glimpses of life caught through windows as you speed past in car, trains or planes. The transient state of time as we move around the world crossing time zones and countries. The daydream of staring, watching and waiting. This inaugural series of Sluice_screens began life as The Moving Image Project , a project that Sluice Associate Curator Charlie Levine began touring in early 2014. Levine originally commissioned/approached various artists to produce silent short films, or films that did not rely on sound, that touched the idea of movement and travel, of glimpses, the mundane and the world. Originally toured to Tokyo, Japan, Vadadora, India and Christchurch, New Zealand in 2014 it continues to grow as a programme of art works, the show reel being added to by artists Levine meets on her journeys.

For Exchange Rates Sluice_screens presents a show-reel of these films, shown on repeat throughout the Expo. Audiences are invited to sit and watch while they are taken on a journey.
