CAMDEN ENCOUNTERS for #Camden50
Elly Clarke is one of four artists / artist groups who has been commissioned to make a new work to mark 50 years since the borough of Camden was formed in its current state. Elly's project, Camden Encounters, involves the gathering of people's site-specific 'sticky memories' at the location to which they belong (/are stuck.)
Using video, audio and photography, the aim is to produce an alternative map (and portrait) of Camden and her nooks and crannies, and the memories that nestle there, and which spring up from the ground every time certain individuals pass through that bar / that cafe / that park.
Official website for the project is here: http://camden50.co.uk/ and on twitter - #Camden50
This slide show was shown at the Camden50 Summer Party, which took place at The Roundhouse, 3rd August 2015. The full encounters (including video and audio) are being uploaded one by one, and can be seen here: http://camden50.co.uk/projects/camden-encounters/
A live oral histories talk also took place with Ruth Ingram, Ubah Egal, Hannah Morris and Gill Watson.
